We took SBB trains from Zermatt to Lucerne, with a quick change of trains in Bern.
Lucerne was a fantastic base of operations for the exploring:
- Lucerne itself
- The Bernese Oberland (including Interlaken Ost, Grindelwald, Jungfraujoch via the Eiger Express, and Lauterbrunnen)
- Zurich and the Zurich Airport
We were amazed by the general ease and accessibility of traveling around Switzerland. And the Swiss people more than lived up to their reputation of being friendly, helpful, and multilingual.
