The Courtyard Munich City Center is located within one block of München Hauptbahnhof — Munich’s main train station — making it an ideal arrival point for travelers coming in by rail, including those arriving via S-Bahn from Munich Airport. The roll from the station exit to the hotel entrance is brief, flat, and straightforward, with no significant barriers along the way.

The location also proved to be an outstanding base for exploring the city. I was able to roll to all of Munich’s major city center attractions — Marienplatz, the Residenz, St. Peter’s Church, the Frauenkirche, and the Hofbräuhaus — in a single afternoon, without draining my power chair batteries. The hotel’s position between the train station and the old town means that virtually everything worth seeing is within comfortable rolling distance.

Entrance & Elevators

The hotel’s front entrance is fully roll-in accessible — there are no stairs, no lips, and no barriers of any kind at the main entry.

To access the upper floors, the hotel has two large elevators, both of which are spacious and easy to maneuver into and out of with a power chair. The elevator call buttons are at a reachable height.

The bed height is 23 inches from the floor.

Bathroom & Shower

The shower is a full roll-in design — no curb, no lip, no threshold to navigate. The transition from bathroom floor to shower floor is flat and flush.

The bathroom is equipped with multiple grab bars that fold down.

The toilet height is 21 inches, The toilet area also has grab bars, and the spacing around the fixture allows for a clear transfer approach. The sink is at an accessible height with knee clearance beneath it, making it usable from a seated position.

Staff & General Hotel

The staff at the Courtyard Munich City Center were friendly, attentive, and helpful without being intrusive. From check-in through checkout, interactions with the hotel team were consistently positive. Staff were responsive to questions and proactive in offering assistance where appropriate.

The hotel overall was clean and usable. Common areas, corridors, and the lobby were all well-maintained and easy to navigate by wheelchair. The hotel functions as a modern, comfortable city hotel. For wheelchair travelers in particular, the combination of genuine accessibility features, cleanliness, and a helpful staff team makes it a standout choice among Munich options.
