Getting from Reno Airport to Incline Village, Lake Tahoe: Wheelchair Accessible Transportation
This review is from our recent trip to Incline Village, Nevada, on the north shore of Lake Tahoe.
We flew into Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe in Incline Village, which we’ll cover in a separate post. Our first task was figuring out how to get there. Incline Village is about an hour from the airport, and we didn’t find many wheelchair accessible transportation options for that route. After some searching, we ultimately booked with Liberty Transport, based in Reno.

Booking with Liberty Transport
Liberty Transport is locally owned and operated in Reno. We spoke by phone with the owners, Brian and Lora, before booking, and they answered our questions about pick-up logistics and wheelchair access directly. That call gave us enough confidence to book both legs of the trip – airport to hotel, and hotel back to the airport.
Airport to Incline Village
Liberty Transport was waiting for us on time at the airport with a large accessible vehicle. It had proper four-point tie-downs, including a seatbelt for the wheelchair user, and the driver was knowledgeable and easy to work with.

Partway into the drive, the driver offered a choice between a route with more curb cuts or a straighter, more direct route. We chose the straighter route and were glad we did – even that route had some curbs here and there, since you’re driving through the mountains. Worth keeping in mind if smoother pavement matters more to you than a shorter drive time.
Incline Village to the Airport
We booked the return trip with Liberty Transport as well, and it was just as smooth. The driver arrived on time, and the vehicle and tie-down setup were the same as on the way in.
Cost
Each way ran approximately $250-300. It’s not cheap, but for a safe, reliable ride through mountain roads with proper wheelchair securement, we felt it was a reasonable cost – especially since we used the Hyatt Regency as a home base for restaurants, a nearby nature trail, and walking around the resort grounds, which meant we only needed transportation to and from the airport rather than getting around by taxi every day.

They also gave us a cell phone number so we could confirm pick-up details directly before the trip, which we appreciated.
Overall, Liberty Transport was professional and reliable both ways. If you’re flying into Reno and staying in Incline Village, it’s a solid option to have on your list.
